For Paul's 50th birthday we headed to California for 8 days. Our first stop was to visit Dawn in Agua Dulce for 2 nights and then we headed north on the I5 to Wine Country. We stayed at the Lodge in Sonoma. Here is a recap or what we saw and where we went. It's my first time blogging so bear with me.

Sunday, November 23
Hung around with Dawn in Agua Dulce, drank mimosa’s, watched football, checked out all the horses. Paul and I went for a walk and explored a little bit of Vasquez Rocks.
Horses: Cosmo, Scotty, May, Brandy and Sabria
Dogs: Bear, Bubba, Mable and Toby Keith
Napa the cat
Dinner at a little Mexican place in Auga Dulce called Maria Bonita, Paul and I both had A la Parillo dishes and they were yummy!

Monday, November 24
Driving north on I5
Cotton fields – the fields are empty but you could still see some lingering cotton on the ground.
We saw all sorts of fields going various things: orange groves, grapevines, almond trees, Mandarins, lemons.
In Livermore we saw tons of wind turbines, which turns out to be Altamount Pass Wind Farm
Trucks hauling pomegranates
The most cows I’ve ever seen, between Kettlemen City and Coalinga, it smelt really bad!
Lots of fog
4000 ft in elevation
California Aqueduct - A typical section has a concrete-lined channel 40 ft. wide at the base and an average water depth of about 30 ft.
